This is a really cool looking truck, yet economical, spacious, and comfortable. MANGO started as a Turo host back in 2017. I have provided over 1,500 5-star rental experiences just with this account. Be careful if you are new to Turo! Carlos comes across as a really nice guy and super professional. If you are a seasoned Turo user then there should be no problem. But if you are new to Turo like we were then you might get taken advantage of like we did. Just be careful! Here are the facts. The car is in a parking lot outside of the San Diego airport. It’s not an easy 5 to 8 minute walk from the airport like it says. It took us over 20 minutes of walking to get to the parking lot. The car’s registration was expired and we got pulled over twice for it. So double check that. Before you return the car make sure you wash the car and vacuum. We were running late so I decided to have the host clean the car for the $30 fee. He said we smoked in the car which is not true and charged us $150 for it. Yes there was some sand and food debris in the car, which is normal for 17 days of family use. But it wasn’t that dirty. A simple vacuuming would have cleaned it all up nicely. Make sure you do this so you are not taken advantage of like we were. Also be careful of the extra mileage fee. It’s $1.06 per extra mile, and you don’t get enough miles for standard California driving. We got nailed with a $600 fee for going over the allowed miles. I wasn’t able to check the mileage throughout the trip because the dashboard had errors on it about the tires needing air. I did fill up the tires with air, but the error messages never left. So I had no idea how many miles we had driven. It didn't feel like we were driving that much. Out of the 17 days several days we didn't even drive the car. Also this GMC all terrain car gets terrible gas mileage. It’s a gas guzzler. So don’t be fooled by the low daily price of this car, you end up paying more for extra fees and gas. When I tried to dispute the smoking and excess mileage fees with Turo and then discuss them with Carlos, he told me that he closed the reservation and would no longer respond to me. And then he ignored the rest of my messages.

We have provided to Turo proof or proper vehicle registration. Also, we have provided an inspection, maintenance records, and history of tire inflation records to them. Wow! Like other reviewers stated-I’m afraid I may be spoiled by the superb service provided by Carlos on my first Turo experience. Pick-up and drop off were as expected and perfectly smooth. Response time was speedy and directions were clear and concise. The walk to the pickup lot is incredibly close to the terminal-If two parents are traveling with children I recommend one parent walk and pickup the car and make the quick trip back to the terminal to pick up the rest of the family. We used an Uber to get to the lot and it was unnecessary. I would happily use Carlos’ Turo service again on a visit to San Diego!
