Description

Discover why the S2000 is so famous. Perfect for top-down driving on the California coast or trips to Napa or just cruising around the city. Many repeat renters. This is a true enthusiast car. This super clean car had only one mature owner near Sacramento before I bought it in December 2016. The car has always been garaged and dealer serviced. All stock with mint condition interior. Tires and brake pads were replaced in December 2016. New clutch March 2017. New canvas top January 2018. “Put yourself in Honda's high-revving, front-engined, rear-wheel-drive, soft-top sports car" https://www.hemmings.com/magazine/hsx/2014/06/Naturally-Aspirational---Honda-S2000-roadster/3738691.html If you need a ride to the car try this Lyft promo code https://www.lyft.com/invite/SF2017

Parking details

Car is street parked with a G residential permit. Parking is not difficult in this neighborhood. Warning: Do NOT leave ANYTHING visible in vehicle parked in San Francisco at any time due to high risk of break-ins. Lock glovebox if using trunk. Neither Turo nor vehicle owner responsible for theft. Renter is responsible for damage to vehicle.

Guidelines

Please help me keep this car available to share with the enthusiast community by following these rules. No smoking or vaping of anything. No pets. No food or drinks. Vehicle is suitable only for experienced operator of manual transmissions. This is not the car to learn on. No racing, off-road, or track use. Car location and driving are tracked. Spirited driving is expected but misuse/abuse can cause expensive repairs for which the renter will be responsible. Please be sure to fill the gas tank with premium (91 octane) gas to level it was (usually full) when you rented it. I should not have to write this, but filling the gas 30 miles outside of the city, as some have done, does not count as full. Be sure to upload photos showing condition of car, fuel level, and mileage before and after your trip. Let me know of any damage beyond small scratches and chips from normal wear & tear.

Faqs

  • How are tolls handled?
Tolls are automatically charged to owner by license plate which will need to be reimbursed by renter. Alternatively, renter can pay tolls, other than Golden Gate which no longer has a cash option, by cash at each toll plaza.
  • Are you flexible with extra miles?
You may exceed the included miles but will be billed at the listed per-mile rate. Unfortunately, I cannot afford to include more miles with this car.
  • How do I handle parking tickets?
Parking tickets can be avoided if you carefully read signs. However, if you get one it is your responsibility to pay it. If I receive a notice that a ticket has not been paid, you will be charged for the ticket plus a $30 processing fee plus any late fees.
  • How do I open fuel filler door and trunk?
Fuel filler door release is located behind driver's door. Trunk release is inside glove box (which is between the seats).
  • How does the top operate?
To open: engage parking brake, release both latches at front of top, use switch in center console. To close: engage parking brake, use switch in center console, carefully close both latches.
  • What happens if I damage car? Am I covered by insurance?
If you have full coverage personal auto insurance you are likely covered for Turo trips, but you should verify this first with your insurance company. Credit cards generally do not cover Turo. Turo offers protection plans, not insurance, for damage to this vehicle, but such coverage is secondary and Turo will first collect from your personal insurance. Car is amazing and Eric is very responsive! Only had one hiccup when I parked in an area with poor coverage— the car wouldn’t start due to a remote immobilized. Luckily my friend had service and I was able to contact Eric who was able to help.

This car is fun but if you’re a standard manual driver, keep in mind you have to go back to the e-brake days before hill assist was implemented in most cars.

Great host and great car!!

Samson N.-Oct 1, 2019

Everything went smoothly until the car broke down! But ya know, stuff happens and everything was taken care of to my satisfaction. Would of been five stars otherwise. Oh well!

Eric’s S2000 was a perfect car for a backroads day trip. Easy pickup and return, would use again.
